Working within the Healthcare Sector

INTRAN can help you advocate clinical safety, improve patient outcomes, and aid the communicative efficiency of your medical professionals.

Read further to see how communicating in a language patients understand supports better diagnosis, leading to successful clinical outcomes with reduced risk.

Reduce delays to deliver better health outcomes and save lives.

Language barriers within healthcare contexts can cause preventable service delays, misdiagnoses, unnecessary interventions and higher healthcare costs. In some cases, access to medical interpreters can be the difference between life and death, enabling you to make the right intervention at the right time. Clearer communication also means that treatments are more effective through improved understanding and fewer medication errors.

INTRAN services are designed around the ‘patient first’, ensuring high fulfilment and quality standards to ensure patients are safe, staff can deliver better health outcomes every time and organisations can save money by reducing the number of time patients spend at hospital.

By bridging the communication gaps, interpreters help you deliver equitable services and reduce risks of service delays and misunderstandings. They’ll help you deliver the same outcomes to everyone.

  • INTRAN - Communication for all

In 70 to 80% of all medical consultations, correct diagnoses can be established through understanding the patient’s medical history. Medically-trained interpreters are absolutely essential to help us make more accurate diagnoses when are clients are deaf or speak a foreign language. With INTRAN, we save time and trouble. We do not have to see our patients again and again for the same issue.

“Effective communication in healthcare is essential to ensure adequate understanding of illness and symptoms and enable medical professionals to be properly prepared and explain all issues safely. Inclusivity is the very nature of the NHS - and during COVID the BAME staff and patients are at higher risk. Through our partnership with INTRAN, enabling interviews with staff and patients at a distance has helped to safeguard all.”

The risks of non-effective communications resulting in patients/carers/parents misunderstanding of information being provided are too high. This could result in significant risk as decision making could be based on the provision of incorrect information.
